Après avoir mené des carrières solos très remarquées, les Fugees se reforment en 2006 et livrent le disque New Heavy.

Chanteuse-guitariste américaine née en 1975. Lauryn Hill s'est fait connaître dans les années 90 au sein des Fugees. Comme ses anciens comparses, elle s'est lancée ensuite dans une carrière solo. Son premier album, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, sort en 1998 et rencontre immédiatement un succès mondial. La chanteuse confirme son rang de grand nom du R&B, remportant 5 Grammy Awards en 99. En 2002, Lauryn Hill a signé un album acoustique, encore plus surprenant, qui a achevé de dévoiler une sensibilité hors du commun.

Wyclef Jean est un des trois membres des Fugees au même titre que Lauryn Hill et que Pras. Né à Haïti, il emménage en Floride aux Etats-Unis et grandit à Brooklyn à New York en compagnie de son cousin Pras. Avec Lauryn Hill, le duo monte les Fugees dont la notoriété explose avec l'album The Score en 1996. L'année suivante, Wyclef Jean part en solo avec l'album The Carnival featuring the Refugee All Stars sur lequel apparaissent ses deux compagnons des Fugees. Grâce au single We Trying To Stay Alive et le sample des Bee Gees, l'album connaît un franc succès. Il signe en 1999 avec Bono de U2 le titre New Day. L'année suivante, il enregistre l'album Ecleftic. Il fait un retour remarqué en 2002 avec la sortie de son troisième opus Masquerade. Arrive enfin l'album The Preacher's Son et un Greatest hits bien mérité, en 2003.

Prakrazel Michel, alias Pras est né et a grandit dans le New Jersey aux Etats-Unis. En 1987, il fonde le groupe de rap « Tranzlator Crew » avec Lauryn Hill, sa camarade de classe. Plus tard, le groupe change de nom avec l'arrivée de son cousin Wyclef Jean et devient « The Fugges ». Le groupe sort son premier album « Blunted on reality » en 1994. Deux ans plus tard, il signe « The Score » qui connaît un très grand succès. Par la suite, les trois membres du groupe se consacrent à leurs projets personnels et Pras signe en 1998 Ghetto Supastar, qui devient rapidement un hit. Il sort ensuite l'album Ghetto Superstar.
